i think maybe there are 2 possibilities:

- a thermistor on the mb under the cpu core but i think it's not very accurate.

- the cpu has some specific pins used by the mb to read its temp.

but it's just some assumptions.

is someone has some knowledge about ?

note:
i have an Asus A7V133 mb & i heard it's not very accurate to measure temps.
what do you think about ?

thanks

if you know you don't know, the way could be more easy.

The answer is yes. Both methods are used. Pentium CPU's always used a thermal diode on the processor itself to measure temps. AMD has just started doing this with their XP series of processors. Most motherboards also use the "thermomitor under the processor" method as well, especially the AMD motherboards, and you're right, this is a less accurate method (especially for Asus motherboards).
