You might want to give Firefox a try. Not only can it use plugins to handle the zoom feature you're looking for, but it can also use the NoScript plugin which IMHO is one of the best protections available against malicious web sites.

Different sites have different characters size preference. Some WEB site owners like them bigger, some like them small.

You can adjust each site character size by <ctrl>+ and <ctrl>-. (<ctrl> while mouse wheeling will do the same).

Most browsers will be intelligent enough to remember your preference for those sites you have made size-adjustments.

If you're using Firefox there are a couple of plug-ins that can be used to control the Zoom level for all pages:

Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6965/
NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6965/

EnvH - Thanks for your response , It was looking like your your recomendation was going to work but all to quickly it went back to skipping all over the place no matter how many times I try to reset it . It just don' want to stay away from the 100% which is too small .
