my compter runs on a Xp1.6 and it uses Globalwin WBK38 heatsink+fan... the software that monitors the CPU temp( pc alert 3 ) usually gets a reading of 51-53c ... is that to high? room temperature is about 25 degrees.
if so what is the recommanded temperature for this particular CPU

thanx

That seems a bit high to me. I have an AXP 1900+ and I my temps are usually 37/42 (39-44 OC) using an OCZ HSF and Arctic SilverII. If your computer runs fine then I wouldn't worry about it that much. Those numbers look within spec.

51C is borderline good/bad.
but if its stable...i dont think you should have anything to worry about.
and the recommended temp for your xp....i would guess around the low to mid 40's.
do you have any case fans in your system?
if not...have at least one case fan at the back of the case blowing air out (exhaust).
it can reduce your cpu temps by about 5C.
