hi,

i got the ep - 7kxa (athlon 700, 256 sdram 133mhz, matrox g 400)
i set the jumper # 3 to 2-3 (133fsb) and the system wasn't bootable anymore. why does this option exist, if it is impossible to run it? or is there another way to reach 133 fsb with the ep - 7kxa? also with soft fsb the system crashes imideatly if i go over 115mhz fsb

please help. thanks,

Your Athlon 700 is probably a 100 MHz FSB CPU (7x100=700), the mobo also supports 133 MHz CPU (I think) so this feature probably wont work for you.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground  .

Athlon 700 (I guess the board - 7KXA means the KX133 chipset and the processor is slot A) runs at 100 MHz FSB, bumping it to 133 in a single stroke makes it run at 933 MHz, which is too high for it, hence it doesnt boot.

115 MHz makes it run at 805 MHz which could still be pretty high for that processor. probably you should stick with 100 MHz, thats 700 MHz processor, or try finer increments if you can with softFSB.
