would both of them fit Epox 8kha+ with xp 1700+?

i think Swiftech would fit perfectly... but not alpha..

i heard that with alpha, i need to sand a little to make it fit. it that true??

how about its noise level???

It all depends on what fan you are going to use, the delta's are LOUD but push alot of CFM's. I hade a delta on my thermalright SK-6 and couldent stand the high pitched noise so i switched to a thermaltake 60x60x25 and its a little better. As far as the alpha i dont know if you would have to make any mods or not. The swiftech mounts on the motherboard (the only bitch of it is that you have ot take out your motherboard to mount it, because it uses the holes in the board)

Here are the specs for the socket 462. (AKA Socket A)

The specs are on page 12 of the AMD Thermal, Mechanical, and Chassis Cooling Design Guide - Doc# 23794 - November 2001, Figure 5.

In simple terms, if you had used a square, and the corners were where the center of the holes, the box would be 66.09mm x 29.03mm or 2.602in x 1.144in.

Based on what is stated on the <A HREF="http://www.micforg.co.jp/mb_inf_pal8045e.html#epox_note_2" target="_new">Alpha website</A> it will be okay, but, it might interfer with one of the capacitors. See the site for their details.
