Hi...
I'm having a problem with sound on my system, which is mainly for games:
1024x768 in 32-Bit Color, NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400/64megs
75 gig HD; 65gigs free
512megs memory
INtel P4, 1.5ghz
Ampthron motherboard
built-in sound card:VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio (WAVE)
VIA PCI 10/100mb fast ethernet
Windows 98 SE

All the games play fine, except UT and BGII--shortly after I open them, about 1 minute, I lose sound completely on my pc. I can exit the game, reboot, and have sound back.

I have tried the latest 4in1 drivers from viaarena.com.
I am considering a new sound card and a new motherboard.
Anyone have any advice or experience with amptron boards? Any advice at all appreciated!

thanks
