Can't print to Network Shared printer after SP2 install

Hello,

After installing Windows XP SP2 on 2 of our computers,
they are experiencing "hang ups" when trying to print to an HP Color
Laserjet 4500 printer which is shared by a PC
running Windows 98.

They mostly print thru Excel 2003, SP1. When they go
to print and try to connect to the shared printer, on the
first try, it usually switches to the 4500 after about a
minute. If they try to print a 2nd report, Excel usually
stops responding and they have to terminate it.

We have found by trial and error that if you go to Services and stop,
then re-start the print service between
each job, things will work, but this isn't a very good option.

I finally gave up on one of the PC's because it is so
critical that she be able to print to the shared printer that I uninstalled
SP2 and MAGIC....everything is working again. (She's able to print to the
shared 4500, no problems).

Just for info, we have some HP LJ2200 printers which are shared in the
same way (to the dino 98 pc's) and we have no problems printing to those
after installing SP2.

I know that SP2 is new, but I was wondering if anyone has found any
solutions yet to this type of problem? We
would like to be able to take advantage of the great features in SP2 on all
of the PC's.
