On a brand new pentium 4 3G, 800MHZ machine, I upgraded to Service Pack 2.
The problem is, the printer I am using is a Xerox P12 Laser printer. When I
try to print now that I upgraded to SP2, I get black colored Pages, which
takes up all my toner.
I installed Virtual PC with a copy of Windows XP Pro, but just
with SP1 installed. and it prints fine. I print out a test page, and the
printer drivers are identicall (DLL'S). The problem I believe is with the
new Spooler in Windows XP Pro SP2. This may be a silly question, but Can i
run SP2 with the SP1 print spooler driver? Both XP1 and XP2 recognize the
printer, and install it automatically. I tried changing the mode to RAW, or
other formats for the print processor, but its not accurate. I find myself
having to choose between Security and Functionality, because SP2 print
spooler driver isnt working correctly. Any way to put the spooler in Legacy
mode so I can print?
