i finally got around to unlockin my xp1600+ and i only rased it up to a 1700 since i read to increase things slowly. it completed toast alright for a couple of hours but as soon as i ran 3dbenchmark2001 it crahsed and said that a file was corrupted. i tried again after a reboot and this time it said a different file was corrupt. I decided to increase the voltage by .025 (i have a dragon+ mobo) and i got the same results. I even up'ed the voltage to 1.8 and it still seems to crash under 3dbenchmark2001. anything else i should try to get the system stable?

Heat issue (same as my case). Try to improve air flow at AGP card's position.

At AGP card's position, have you tried PCI slot fan to take heat out?
If you want to be sure if it's heat issue, turn off your comp for about 1/2 hour then turn it on and run it again to see if it still gives error messages.

I got same error messages as yours after running my comp a while (Gainward GeForce 3Power Pack) and its core temp rised as much as 75C(!) although my CPU and mobo temps only 44 and 28C respectively.
