Need advise oc'ing amd 1400

Tried it before with old cpu, now not so confident (replaced bios then ruined cpu..not very smart lately)
Current system is amd 1400/200, enermax 465, gts prophet II,
sb live platinum, maxtor 30.7g 100ata 7200 rpm, ricoh 12x10x32x, toshiba 14x dvd, (2) 256M pc 133 dram all on a abit kt7a ver 1.1 board.
Can't seem to overclock AT ALL. Tried raising voltage to 1.85v, small increment in multiplier/fsb (11x133=1463) in soft menu but nothing. had to reset cmos etc...what am I missing? Is the 200fsb of the processor the problem? Thanks in advance and appreciate the advise

I have the same board, with a 133/266 1400 athy, going fine @ 1700 (needed watercooling) but ran ok up to just under 1600 with a hsf (delta on a coolermaster). Had to do a volt mod to get higher.
I'd suspect your ram first off, but what bios do you have? I had probs with the original bios (I THINK it was WW but not sure, running (I THINK 4A now).A new bios may help, also check your other bios settings- ram timing etc. My project <A HREF="http://www.calvsplace.cwc.net" target="_new">is here</A>

I've got the last bios (3r) from abit...dated 6/2001? I've been up and down the bios and can't figure it out...maybe time for new ram...btw my hsf is a dragon orb 3 w/artic silverII

Is your CPU unlocked, otherwise you can't change the multiplier up or down.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground

Hey guys, im about to get my new system:
Case: Antec SOHO 1030b (b is for black) w 350W Antec PS 4 case fans, including the PS one
CPU: Athlon XP 1900
GPU: GeForce 3 Ti500 (dont know what brand yet, maybe you could help out here)
MOBO: Soltek SL-75DVRV4 (Purple Ray)
RAM: (2) 128MB Crucial DDR 266 CAS Latency 2.0
HD: Maxtor 40GB 7200RPM ATA133
OS: Windows XP Pro
Plextor 24x10x40x CDRW (black)
Antec keyboard and Belkin mouse (both black)
and a MAG 19" monitor (unfortunately white, i couldn't find a black 19" cheap enough)

now to the LAN part, if any of you are hosting one or going to a large scale LAN party tell me when/where maybe i can be there
