Printer spooler service not running

The above message has just started,and It means that the computer is not
recognising my printer.I see there are other people with the same problem.My
printer is not shown on the start menu "printers and fax" but the software is
installed.Power to printer etc is ok. I am nervous about messing with
registry being of rookie status,at least as far as anything in depth is
concerned.I keep getting different warnings about printer spooler send notice
to ms(re spooler sub system) this started a couple of days ago and has now
cut of my printer entirely.Reffering back to another start date does not work
either..Please..Thanks Ian

Thanks for your help! I did go through the procedure accessoriec,command etc
and the print spooler was started,I thought wow!we got it! unfortunately not
my printer icon did not reappear and my system still does not consider a
printer installed.The other site seems related to lexmark printer,mine is
HP..Thanks again..Ian

more ideas..Thanks IanFollow up!! Hi there!! My continuing problem,I still
have no printer ,no icons,and no recognition from my computer that there is a
printer installed..After checking the function" run services.msc" on the run
panel and switching the printer spooler to automatic and hitting run,It
bounces right back to off again..An
