Battlefield 3 Constantly Freezes?

Well I just got my new GPU, a GTX 460 v2 Superclocked. Whenever I try to play Battlefield 3, I get uneven and choppy framerates. The game runs smooth for about 10 seconds, then freezes for about 2 seconds. Then it goes back to normal, and freezes again. And just keeps repeating over and over. It's getting really annoying, I've re-installed Battlefield, restarted my computer, updated to the latest drivers, even tried out beta drivers, to no success. This didn't happen with my old card, a GT 430. Nothing I've tried works, so if someone could help that would be great.

Specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @2.5 GHz
EVGA GTX 460 v2 Superclocked
4 GB DDR3 RAM
500 GB HDD
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Apart from this, update to the 304 drivers which allow a new option called adaptive Vsync.

Are you running the game on default setting? Keep it on default, your PC can handle that BF3

Is the problem only in this game? do other games play OK? Which other games have you tried?

This solved it, I switched to "Adaptive Sync" and it ran perfectly.
Also, it wasn't just on BF3, it was also on NFS: The Run. I guess it was Frostbite 2 engine in general.
