I have this printer shared out on a windows 98 machine. I can find the
printer by searching on the IP address of the 98 machine from the XP machine
and the doubleclicking it. I have SP1 and all updates on the XP machine.
Then I can right-click on the printer and select connect. It asks for
drivers which I installed. Then it says it is ready. When you try to print
at test page it says it failed to print the test page. I tried putting a
password on the printer. I am at a loss here. This is on a wireless
network. Help.

I read the complete article listed above. There is something strange in my
situation though? One thing to note is that I am logged in using cached
credentials to an windows 2003 domain when adding this printer. I have
shared out the printer, the IP addresses are in the same subnet and have
compatible subnet masks. The IP addresses are doled out by a wireless
router. The desktop is hardwired to the router and the laptop is on a
wireless lan. Also...I have the hard drive on the desktop shared out and I
am not having a problem accessing those resources. Help.
