Fraps lagging

hello so i downloaded fraps to record some games.
the first game i decided to try recording is minecraft.
i have a second hard drive that i record to.
but when i hit f9 it goes from 100 fps to 15.
i ran minecraft in window mode and hit f9 and it was recording perfectly at 60 fps.
here is my systems specs:

Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 2.40 GHz
4.00 GB ram
Pny Gt 220 1gb Graphics card

i cant find any answers online PLEASE HELP!!!!!

What is the hard drive you're writing to? What settings did you use for recording video?

30 fps full size

That's your issue.. You cannot write to 5400 RPM drive.. it's gonna be slow. Very slow.
