Boot Failure

Have a Dell XPS with Intel Raid for Serial ATA setup in BIOS that identifies 2 non raid disks correctly. Machine had Win 7 installed and operating properly when i installed an e sata card and hooked it to an external hard drive. Once i booted, the machine hung so i took out the esata card and rebooted. Now, it wont boot, i get a "hit f1 to try reboot or hit f2 for setup message". i set the boot sequence to check cd first and can get the machine to respond to win 7 recovery disk but it cannot find any installed windows system. if i try a win 7 install cd, it will not boot.

Can anyone help me recover or repair this situation?
