I've got a WindowsXP Pro laptop attached to a printer via a USB to
Parallel adapter (printer has only a parallel connector, laptop does
not). The adapter and printer install and work fine.

But.... when I disconnect USB/printer from the laptop and reconnect, it
reinstalls a second printer.

Is there a way to get it to recognise and use the existing, installed
printer?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Tom, did you ever resolve this problem, as I have the same one! If you did
resolve, I would very much value advice.
Thanks
