Good cheap microphone for commentaries?

I'm looking to get into YouTube gaming commentaries, and I need a decent microphone. I'd like to spend under $50 if possible. It doesn't need a bunch of features or anything, I just want something that will record my voice clearly.

Thanks,

  1. That looks pretty good. I'd prefer it to be cheaper though. I have no shortage of money, it just seems like a waste to spend a lot on a mic when I could get games or something instead. I suppose it would be worth it in the long run though.
  2. Well, I like the idea of it clipping onto the headphone cord, but that product on the Canadian website still seems to ship from the UK, and it costs an extra $7 to ship and it'll take 3 weeks.
  3. I recommend that you buy the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000, really great for recording. But the headset has a high-base, so not really good for listening. When I bought them they were $25. But on amazon right now there 12.25. Really great deal. If your going to buy it there is only one left in stock right now, so I would hurry.

  4. I have the Zalman mic fantanel linked and I love it.
Amazing quality for the money. You should be able to pick one up locally or some a Canadian site, just google Zalman clip-on mic.

Ps fantanel thanks for the link, I've been meaning to buy another for my brother, but had a hard time finding a UK supplier.
  5. I have that Zalman mic too and it's a pretty good mic, amazing for the money. But if I was serious about commentating videos on youtube, I would probably get a blue snowball.
  6. Maybe if my videos get popular I will. $110 is quite a bit if I'm only going to get like 100 views.

EDIT: Just realized that you are probably wondering why I said $110.

Apparently that company doesn't like Canada.
  7. It appears I can get that Zalman one for $10 from NCIX. I suppose I'll do that.

Yeah, you could go with those ones, but if you liked the Microsoft ones more, then you could get then for a little more,

Just keep going down the page and you will see one for $25 and free shipping.

Also, you can try to look for some promo codes for any store you would like, and they may work even in your Country.

    Take care!,

  9. If I were you I'd go with a Samson Go Mic, its insane quality and only $40!

The delivery may take sometime though.
Have a look through them there's a sound test on the side of the page for each microphone.

    The blue mics are terrible.
