HP LJ 8150 Severe Err On Install w/sp2

On two new Dell Optiplex systems running xp Pro w/sp2 in a domain, have tried
to install an HP 8150n from the HP CD and encountered a "severe error" about
64% of the way through the copying files portion of the install. Have tried
with and w/out the firewall "up", with and w/out anti-virus software,
downloaded the latest driver from HP to no avail. I have been installing
from an admin account. Three other HP printers install just fine. I have
seen noted issues w/sp2 eearly releasae on systems with the 8150 already
installed, but can't find anything about installing on a new system with sp2.
Has anyone encountered this issue that can offer suggestions on how to
resolve it? I don't know what else to try at this point.
