try downloading 3dmark2001se from www.madonion.com
i score 7500 marks at default benchmark so without changing res. a p3 800mhz with geforce1 scores about 1700\1800
try comparing the results maybe your memory on the card is broke

hope this helps ya out

I just went from a Voodoo 5 5500 to a Geforce 3 Ti200(Visiontek Model running as well using their detonator 3 drivers which WHQL certified). One thing I need to ask is did you crank up your AGP to 4x in your BIOS? 3DFX's Voodoo cards only supported 2x. I get 6785 in 3D Mark. Also depending on what you having running in the background,
how long since a fresh reboot, disk fragmentation, and numerous other things could cause your lower numbers. Run in a few times after rebooting after each test, making sure you disable all un-needed programs out of your background as well.

You might also want to crank up your AGP aperture (in the Bios) to 256 MB. I recently cranked it up from 64 MB to 256MB and noticed my fps tripled on my Athlon 850 mhz with a Geforce2 Ti.

if you want my results buy a xp1800+ UNLOCK IT
set it to xp1900+ buy geforce3 ti200 128mb (leadtek winfast tdh200 128mb)
oc. it to 210/475mhz. can go higher but its good enough
def. is 175/400mhz.
256mb ddr kingston memory
set your fsb to 142x12.5
run rivatuner buy 4case fans to keep it cool and watch it fly.
when i boot it it is just like a jet plane flying at full throttle LOL LOL

my system aint running on 110/230volts it runs on NITRO LOL!!!

your setup sounds great,i just saved up to buy this gainward geforce 3 ti200 so it will be awhile before i can upgrade my cpu.i can overclock it a bit though.. i just downloaded the new drivers from nvidia and ran benchmark again and got a score of 5988. i will keep trying to tweak some settings to get it up higher..

I'm running the Ti200 stock(at least for now),but my other stats include

Abit KR7A
AMD Athlon XP 1700+(1.47 Ghz) @ 1900+(1.6 Ghz without unlocking the CPU)
Corsair 256MB DDR 2400(146x2 FSB)
Visontek Xtasy 6564 175/400(stock speed again)
IBM 75GXP 30 GB drive
etc...

You should be getting in the 6500+ range normally. I'd recommend checking your settings in the BIOS and seeing if everything is configured for optimal performance. Something is obviously holding you back. You can see my stats and a few others i've collected from users here at
http://home.wi.rr.com/ocingamd. There's a slim possibility that you got a 'bad' card, but not likely. Since mine isn't tweaked and I'm not even using the latest drivers (I ran into an issue with some games using the latest drivers) and my card is just stock you should have similiar numbers to mine. The CPU speed shouldn't have a huge effect on your framerate either. Keep plugging at it, I'm sure you'll find something you missed.

You played a game called outlaws? Is that D3D or Glide based. As you know, voodoo cards are well known for great graphic support under older games that are Glide based. Also, Gf3 Ti is clocked really, really low. In fact, lower than the Gf2 Ti. Get rivatuner or some software Overclocker and try for 200/500, since the gainward oc's very well. In fact, you could probably even go from 175clock to maybe 250 if you have a good chip. Definately oc the mem first, you will see the most difference with that.
