Can anybody give me some advice and/or info. on what I should do to overclock my athlon cpu? It is currenlty running at 900mhz, but am sure I could get it higher.
I'm aloud to play around with FSB speeds and voltages in my BIOS. Right now, I increased my FSB from 100 to 106 (which gives me the added 50 mhz). However, I would like to know what I would have to do to overclock it any higher by changing the voltage?
Thanks!

Of course you can go higher than 900 MHz with athlon 850 MHz. You can see a lot of overclocking results and specs at http://www.overclockers.com in the CPU database, where the average overclocked speed for this CPU is 1016 MHz

First of all you need to know the normal (idle) and load temperature of you CPU to get an idea of what you got. Depending on many factors (case temp, HSF…) idle should be around 40 and load at 45, but the temp sensors in mobos are not really accurate so the best to do is to know your own system.

There are a lot of things to do overclocking an athlon 850, but basically they are:
1) hmonitor and motherboard monitor are good programs to monitor temps and work with the numbers calculating averages temps.
2) use hcpuid to know max possible FSB for the memory (8ns=125 MHz FSB / 7.5ns= 133 MHz FSB)
3) After that raise the FSB about 5% each time and control the temp at idle an load.
Try to don’t get the cpu temp higher than 50 degrees.
4) Benchmark the system to test for stability.
5) If temp and stability are going well (no freezing / crushing) go to step 2 again.

Anyway would be good if you read a more detailed AMD overclocking guide before to do this. For example at http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dType=guide&dId=18

Good luck
