Whenever i try and load my latest save or make a new game in skyrim, the loading screen comes up as usual but then it freezes. After about 5mins skyrim just closes itself with no error message.

Things i have tried...

- updating drivers
-deleting skyrim (deleted it 4 times)
- deleting all of my mods
- the sound quality trick
- updating skyrim

NOTHING IS WORKING! Specs...

xfx hd 6870 dual fan edition 1gb

Amd phenom II x6 @ 3.2 ghz

8gbs DDR3 RAM

Skyrim used to run around 45fps - 60fps on highest settings with graphically intensive mods

I have no idea what the problem is... :??:

By the way I have the steam version

Hi :)

Bumping is not allowed here...the more times you do it , the less responses you will get...

Have you tried Skyrim support or forums ?

All the best Brett :)

the only time i have heard of this is with a cracked version... if yours is legit direct download then i suggest you get a fresh download as it sounds like the 1 you have is corrupted.

Go to C:\Users\<yourname>\Documents\my games\skyrim delete these two files:

"Skyrim"
"SkyrimPref"

Then go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim and make sure all files are deleted.

If that does not work, you may have a corrupted save file.

Do you have any content from the steam workshop?
Never mind, didn't read the whole post. The only crashing I've experienced is when the load order is screwed up.

1. its usually a mod, make sure all are deactivated via Nexus Mod Manager or the skyrim launch menu.

2. Validate game cache via steam.

Can you load an old save? did you change ugrids in skyrimprefs?
