Why can\'t I play Medieval II: Total War?

i got the first medieval total war gold edition and it worked really well on my windows 2000 which met the requirements. I'm not sure what my graphics card is like so ill just say its enough. i really wanted to buy the next total war game, so i looked at medieval 2 total war. it looked amazing and i real wanted to get it then when i read the system requirements, it said you need a 128 mb video card and i thought ummmm, can i play medieval 2 total war with my graphics card which is not high etched enough to play 128 mb video card. can anyone help me?
