Hey guys, I’m building a new system and I wanted to see if anybody any suggestions on where and what to buy. Here’s the specs…

Either this case http://www.buyaib.com/al300watneon.html or this case http://www.buyaib.com/blacktowercase.html

16x+ DVD drive

400W+ power supply

Maxtor ATA133 60GB+ hard drive

This mother board http://www.essencompu.com/nupplysingar.asp?ID=1801

An AMD processor at least at 1900+ Mhz

512 MB of PC2700 (333 Mhz) RAM

Creative audigy sound card

Geforce 3 or 4 or ATI 8500 w/TV out

Which heatsink/fan, video card, ect. do you think I should use?

No Cd-Rw ?
get the Xp2100+
well there's a big difference between the graphics cards you've chosen.. try to narrow it down

i would go with the Geforce 3 ti500 if you don't need the Top of the line... VisionTek makes a Great card, VisionTEK Xtasy 6964

if your not over clocking then just get the Retail CPU...

If you can wait a little while get the GF4 Ti4200 - tons cheaper and almost as fast! You're looking at a card that is within 90-95% as fast as a Ti4600 for under 200 bucks! But they aren't supposed to be out until the end of April I think. Also, the motherboard looks good, but I'd probably go with Asus's KT333 mb. <shrug> neither were out when I got my KR7A so I don't know for sure maybe someone with one can give a better opinion...but I do know that the KT333 is the chipset to use right now. How much overclocking do you intend to do?

Looks good.

It looks like you are planning to OC, so you probobly want a good heatsink. Swiftech, Alpha and the ThermalTake Volcano are good heatsinks, but they have loud fans. You might want to look for a slower 60mm fan (4000 rpm) or an 80mm fan with fan adapter.
Also I recommend two or more casefans (one if the powersupply has two fans):eek:ne in the bottom blowing in, and one in the top blowing out.

I also recommend waiting for the GeForce4 Ti4200, that will be a very fast and cheap card.

<b>THGC:</b> before: :frown:  , after:   .

yea...in reagards to the cases...u can get the first one for way cheaper....try newegg or colorcases...i believe it is the zuess model...the second case seems like a much better deal as it comes with a psu but if u want a 400+ anyway....why bother with this case's 330w

The first case look pretty ugly in real life, but it does look good on pictures. Weird but true, seen almost all the Nikao cases in stores and they looked pretty bad, except one. :)

The <A HREF="http://www.buyaib.com/blacktowercase.html" target="_new">other</A> is a nice case with great cooling using the 3-4x80mm case fans you can put into it. Space to load it up with your toys and future toys. While the other is pretty sucky if you use large ATX motherboards like the raid ones and cd-rom in the bottom large bay (will not fit)

I ould suggest a geforce3 ti 200 and a coolmaster or swiftech heatsink/fan depeding on budget.
