Printer driver won't install

I have an HP340 monochrome that I want to connect to Windows XP Home. When I
use the driver from the wizartd, after I press "finish", it begins
installing, then aborts, and says "Printer drivers was not installed.
Operation could not be completed". Can anyone help me?

I have tried to look for the settings, but I am unable to locate where this
is. There is just one user on my pc, and I was under the impression that I
was the administrator, as well. Perhaps I was wrong? Where do I find the
"Computer Configuration"? I really appreciate the help.
