I want to do a minor OC of my Soltek mobo and AthlonXP 1900+

I'm not increasing the multiplier on the CPU, but i wish to increase the FSB as high as it can go

Unfortunetaly my attempts so far involved pushing the FSB to 139.....resulting in a system lock up during the boot cycle.

what should i be doing to ensure stability when i overclock the FSB?

the DDR-RAM is at 2.5v, does that need a boost?

what's happening to the AGP and PCI buses when i push the FSB? do they need a tweak to ensure stability?

any help would be good :))

I don't think it is caused by one of your PCI or AGP devices, the OC is to small for that.
It could be the memory or the CPU. You can try and see if the system gets stable if you set the DDRRAM Voltage at 2.55 or 2.6 or if you set it to CAS 2.5 instead of CAS 2.
If it is caused by the CPU you can increase the VCore to 1.8V and see if that helps. But remember that this will increase heat too.

BTW: Which brand of DDRRAM do you have?

THGC: before: :frown:  , after:   .

OK I might push the voltages of the RAM and the CPU up to 2.6 and 1.8 respectively.

my RAM is one 512Mb Stick (kingston valueRAM CL2.5)
1 256Mb stick Crucial RAM (Crucial RAM, CL2.5)

the RAM is running at CAS 2.5 inline with their specs...i heard that i could probably push both sticks to Cas 2, but i wouldn't notice much of a difference apart from in benchmarks...is that true?
