This isn't news nor politics topic, but a leisure one :)

How was your first date?

Mine was awfully painful. I went with a girl I didn't know very well but she knew me very well - stalker moment? When my dad drove us to our destination, I sat in the front seat while she sat in the back seat alone, probably wasn't the right thing to do but hey, I was 14 :)
She blabbered about her life while I just said "mhm" "cool". My hormones weren't as "robust" when I was younger but I wanted to know how it felt to go on a date. She stopped talking to me after like the 20th "mhm" and she just threw her napkin on the ground and left me. It seemed as if she was a little angry lol. She was such a pig, $50 on the bill and I was like s***.

That was my first date. Hope you guys have better ones lol. I didn't go on another date until I graduated high school. Pretty brutal :(

More about : date

My first date was my senior year in high school. This girl I was an acquaintance with we ran into each other at Walmart one day, just chatting. She mentioned about the Prom, I said I wasn't going because I didn't have anyone to go with, she said the same. Talked a little more and I left, and she comes running out in the parking lot and says "Hey, you wanna go to the prom with me?"

So we went, actually had a really good time. Nothing "naughty" to report. We were "dating" for about a month afterwards, didn't work out. Mainly because I was a way deep in the closet at the time. Also, we both have what I guess I would call the "alpha" personality, long story short anyway. The person I'm with now, I've been with 3 years, I may be the Alpha, but he is the quiet force whos clever enough to get his way without bucking heads with me, works well. But I'll never forget it.

Lol wow. I'm not with anyone right now and haven't been for a few years. I've had like 6 dates in total in my entire life - forever alone :(

Theres someone out there for everyone man. I'm fat and funny looking and have a real backwards sense of humor a lot of ppl don't get, which means in work and often social settings I have to be someone I'm really not., I ended up with someone that our relationship reminds me of "Next Contestant" by Nickelback and I don't have to pretend to be someone else.

Join a church or sporting group of some kind.

There are heaps of plain looking girls who will jump at the chance.

Aim low and you won't be disappointed.

Get them to talk about themselves on the date ... thats essential.

Make sure you attend to hygeine and personal grooming.

Get a "wingman" to give you some tips ... don't confuse that with "wingding".

Also, nothing attracts women to men like a man who already has a lady

I remember my first date hardly talking at all even though I was trying to be engaging. Oh, and she didn't eat her dinner, at all. Huge turn off for me when a woman doesn't eat.

There wasn't a second date.

LOL, I went on a blind date with this black guy once (yes I knew he was black beforehand). We met for lunch at a diner with his 2 friends who were a straight couple. I went out and bought what I considered to be a nice shirt from Ross for the occasion. While we're eating and talking he points out the shirt and the conversation goes something like this:

Him: "Is that a Sean John?"
Me: "I'm not sure, I just bought it because I thought it looked nice"
Him: "It is a Sean John, you wore that because I'm black didn't you?"
Me: (Speechless- a mental door slams in my mind, yea.. this is our first and last date)

He made some kind of other comment I can't recall regarding race. Really, I wanted to say to him "Look, if I had a problem dating a black guy, I wouldn't be here, I think its you who has the problem".... And I swear there was nothing overtly ethnic about this shirt, it was a basic black and gold striped polo, no brand names on it whatsoever. I actually just found the shirt in my drawer, the tag says "Joker" whatever the implications of that are. Whats a Sean John?

Edit: Google is an amazing little toy... You decide

That's a nice looking shirt! what was the problem? sheesh!

Horizontal stripes make you look fat (according to my daughter). just sayin'

I thought I had done pretty well picking it out too! Contrary to popular belief not all of us have imbued fashion sense, under normal circumstances, I'm lucky to walk out of the house with matching socks! (although, is that a style now?)

Horizontal stripes make you look fat? Funny, I always thought it was my 240 pounds that did that!

Tell her thanks for the fashion tip, I need all the help I can get.

Agree, but don't aim too low. You will feel terrible after you dump her, feel like using her.

Does causally asking a girl to go to a cafe in the morning after your 1st lecture ever at university and she say yes count as a date? Nice to be 17!!

She starts talking about the dress she bought over the weekend and I just nod along. She was describing how the dress look like, but I am imagining how the dress not on her look like. I am a jerk, I know! If you are female, you don't have to tell me to my face.

Thankfully, conversation topic become more interesting in future dates.

@nekulturny

Actually, wear vertical stripe. Makes you look skinner and taller.

Also don't carry wallet, cell, keys etc in your pants pocket. It makes your hips looks too wide. Use a messenger bag.

I am doing to start a "Dear Tom" sticky for this sort of stuff ...

The only inflated thing I own is my ego... and that's got a puncture :(

When a Mummy Gnome and a Daddy Gnome really love each other then a fork brings them a KiDE...

So GTK+ and GTK+ equals Qt?

I think not! :p

I actually left on (reasonably) good terms. If I had done that then my team mate would have had to be leaving with me as it would have been him having to plug any working bits back together. I will admit to having come close when dealing with HP printers though, that's when they weren't trying to kill us themselves.

I take far more satisfaction in regular updates from old work colleagues where the immortal words of 'The chimp did warn you...' keep being used. So far that's been in relation to two full system outages (key servers that needed replacement five years ago), the collapse of a storage rack that resulted in the death of a few monitors and a couple of Sun servers (fortunately it missed people) and the collapse of a company into a patten troll.

I thought your favourite line was "Step away from the computer".

:)

Step away from the Wingding maybe...
