My LG4400 is no longer functioning after I dropped it several times.
I'm looking to replace it. I used it with a small external antenna I
plugged in right next to the phone antenna antenna and I could plug the
external antenna in and charge the phone at the same time.
Looking at the Samsung SCH-a650 but I need to use it in the house with
the same small antenna plugged in. Does the SCH-a650 have an RF port on
the phone so that I can charge it AND have the antenna connected to it?

It has an RF port, but I have not been able to find a source that supplies
the adapter necessary for an external antenna. The tiny little connector
looks very fragile to me -- I don't know how much abuse it could take.

I've been using an adapter for my LG 4400 very happily in my house where
the signal is weak. I got it from http://www.alternativewireless.com/. I use a little magna mount and it brings me from an unstable signal to a
stable one, even if it only shows one more bar - it's a lot more stable.
I've never had any problem with the connectors.
Do you just pry off the little metal cap behind next to the antenna?
