D&D Support programs.

Ok, so im wondering if their are any pre made programs online that me and my friends can use to play D&D (the original pen and paper kind) on our computers? like have the DM have all the information he (or she) needs at their fingertips and if we were to use 4th edition have a virtual map with fog to display what the DM wants us to see.
I have no idea what the frack to call this so if anything like this exists, please link it.
Or if im just crazy and nothing like this exists what are other ways i can do this in a similar manner?
or if even still impossible could some one be kind enough to make a simple proof of concept?
