AWESOME!!!
February 15, 2011 9:07:17 PM

AMD -> They better work on their crappy products, cause their 6 core is slower than Intel 4 core. I think Intel is having laugh at them.
February 15, 2011 9:09:11 PM

gotta love the PR who did that
now that is amazing marketing without attacking someone.

niiiice.
February 15, 2011 9:10:11 PM

That's pretty cool. Really though I think journalists would rather have gotten a Bulldozer sample :o
February 15, 2011 9:11:36 PM

I want one of those coffee cups !!

lol
February 15, 2011 9:17:25 PM

i think i find it funny, cause intel is still laughing all the way to the bank

AMD can send as many gag gifts as they want, but if they don't get their act together, their gonna lose their desktop consumers.
February 15, 2011 9:17:45 PM

Chocolate CPU's mmmmm
February 15, 2011 9:29:28 PM

Good taste AMD, good taste. Guess AMD had no other valentines? boo-ya
February 15, 2011 9:31:10 PM

Nice! But I would like to see their Bulldozer CPUs to have some real power compared to Intel CPUs.
February 15, 2011 9:33:51 PM

Intel is laughing all the way to the bank? LOL

They just paid AMD 1.5billion and now they just made a boo boo with Sandy Bridge that's gonna cost at least another 1billion.

Now AMD is selling 50% more product due to Intel's screwup.

So who's laughing all the way to the bank?
February 15, 2011 9:46:46 PM

Now that's just cute. :)

I think if you look at stock prices you will see Intel is still laughing all the way to the bank.

lradunovic77AMD -> They better work on their crappy products, cause their 6 core is slower than Intel 4 core. I think Intel is having laugh at them.

Prediction 1: the AMD in question is a slightly slower per-core clock speed than the Intel, and the test was single-threaded.
Prediction 2: the AMD was a heck of a lot cheaper than the Intel
Prediction 3: Intel will continue to NOT sell GOOD processors for CHEAP, and I will continue to buy AMD as a result
February 15, 2011 10:25:00 PM

I agree, they should celebrate the release of Bulldozer by sending Intel a Bulldozer.
February 15, 2011 10:48:53 PM

AMD is now officially cooler than Intel!
LOL
...

I mean they has always been cooler than Intel ;)
February 15, 2011 11:02:29 PM

Haha I love the good humor AMD has, and its sad as hell to see Intel fanboys get all pissy on here over it. Lighten up guys. Its just a simple joke in good taste, and seeing you all angrily rant about how much AMD sucks and Intel rocks just makes you look rabid and retarded.
February 15, 2011 11:10:14 PM

I realize it says 2.2ghz on the chocolate lol...
February 15, 2011 11:30:58 PM

Yes, that's absolutely awesome!
February 15, 2011 11:46:22 PM

ahahahahaaa sweeeeeet!
February 16, 2011 12:01:04 AM

Everyone who've bought a Sandy Bridge should receive this letter. =P
February 16, 2011 12:15:22 AM

Nice PR,
I've always managed to put whatever type of processor I could afford during that time. :)  It means currently I like AMD and Intel both the same... but... if I ever won the Mega-Millions I am pretty sure when I get a machine built it would have the best intel processor in it. ;)
February 16, 2011 12:33:33 AM

kingssmanChocolate CPU's mmmmm

You might even say they're chocolate chips.

Terribad, I know.
February 16, 2011 12:44:51 AM

Sweet(s)!
February 16, 2011 1:20:27 AM

Gotta like how AMD cares for it's customers. =)

Where's my box of chocolates from Intel? Oh wait...
February 16, 2011 1:38:27 AM

falchardI agree, they should celebrate the release of Bulldozer by sending Intel a Bulldozer.

Lolz... oh man, that'd be fantastic.
February 16, 2011 3:22:09 AM

They can keep their cute jokes. I'll keep my Sandy Bridge and my "defective" Sabertooth motherboard that absolutely destroys any AMD processor out there. 4.8 ghz with auto voltage settings FTFW!!!
February 16, 2011 4:06:48 AM

I love the idea. It would be very cool if I received one set from AMD, too. But again, I am not a journalist. Sigh...
February 16, 2011 4:36:12 AM

That was funny. But it will bite them in the end when Intel sweeps the floor with them again in the future.
February 16, 2011 5:35:04 AM

gotta love funny, light hearted advertising, made my day reading this, nice work AMD.
February 16, 2011 5:44:46 AM

AMD, I would've loved to have one of those!
February 16, 2011 5:55:29 AM

That's so awesome, I also love reading all of these comments poking fun at us AMD users/fans, when really this is just for a bit of fun and some of you have taken this way out of proportion.

AMD better have something big prepared to do this to Intel.
February 16, 2011 6:10:40 AM

I want those chocolates!
February 16, 2011 6:18:49 AM

someguynamedmattLol... gotta love AMD...

DELL is going to buy them out...what a great company it used to be...now not so much
February 16, 2011 7:59:00 AM

Intel pokes fun at AMD with earnings statements and benchmarks. . .
February 16, 2011 9:03:24 AM

LOL thats funny but those chocolates are looking good
February 16, 2011 9:35:19 AM

Sandy B is cheap now. considering their big performance leap of their previous generations.
February 16, 2011 9:37:14 AM

What's with the "AMD+Dell = Sweet HPC" chocolate?
February 16, 2011 9:48:19 AM

Give me a break fanboys! I'm a huge AMD fan, but you can't argue that isn't kicking their asses, regardless of their SB snafu. I'd still never give Intel my money directly, but I can't disregard their dominance.

Oh I'm sorry that you don't do anything that NEEDS the power, however many of us do, and we use it to its full potential.

Give it a break, check Tom’s CPU Hierarchy charts, Intel always has an entire tier over AMD.

I’m no fan boy, I recommend AMD all day long, hell two of my best friends I built gaming computers for I had them get AMD, but you can’t ignore benchmarks and tests. If you NEED the speed and you NEED the power you better get Intel. Simple as that.

Yeah, the SB error was a big one, but do you think AMD has gone without faults?
February 16, 2011 10:16:33 AM

Totally quoted the wrong person.
February 16, 2011 10:39:08 AM

A short-living joke.
February 16, 2011 10:58:30 AM

funny how a little humerous pr package gets such mean responces... relax people, some of you need to switch to decaf
February 16, 2011 11:13:46 AM

I hope they use the worlds best heatsink/fan otherwise that thing is surely gonna melt all over the mobo. =D
February 16, 2011 11:21:19 AM

How about you give us something worth a s($% AMD, cause currently you are WAY WAY WAY behind.

I'm no fanboi of Intel or AMD, but the joke is on AMD.....BY FAR.

Even the last gen of Intel CPUs (1156) is WAY beyond ANYTHING AMD has to offer.
February 16, 2011 11:24:37 AM

Would the faster binned chocolate taste better than the slower binned chocolate?

Is it dark chocolate for servers, normal chocolate for desktop CPU's and perhaps diet / milk chocolate for mobiles.

This whole analogy bears some serious investigation ...

i love the intel fanboys hatin comments like ooo we just got buttraped so we gotta hate
thuban is win, sandy bridge is shit, the new chipset is coming; get ready get ready get ready, cuz amd is about to cost you another 5 billion intel. and this time it wont be spent on an ad that goes nationwide and sounds like this..:
this is what you pay for intel fanboys: this is where the extra money went:
"DA.... DA DA DA DA"
that truly is worth it. just ask sandy bridge.
February 16, 2011 12:05:38 PM

Not really my oced 1090t i bought back in April of last year. Ties with the brand new 2600k in most bench marks. In apps that take advantage of the 6 cores it really flies! It is slower then the 980x in non gaming situations... but it does cost $800 less. So it works for me : )
