166FSB & 1/5 divider with the KT333...

I know that 166FSB & 1/5 divider is also possible with both the XP333 (ALi) and the 7350KDA (SiS).

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

just wanna be certain its being used in my case
99% sure... theres no way my pci devices could stand 42mhz for very long

They say <i>”yet”</i>, so are the new ones coming with 1/5 and 1/3 dividers activated?

well i did a bios update last nite, and the updated bios now shows the PCI/AGP speed just below the selected fsb.

the 1/5 divider automatically kicks in at 166fsb or above on this board, but no 1/6 (yet)
heard rumors that it may appear in a new bois revision (unlikely in my opinion)

i think most of the overclockable kt333 boards have the 1/5 divider, its just not 'officially' supported.
(why would it be when all AMD cpu's are still rated for 133fsb)

gotta try some lengthy divx again... hopefully the bios has ironed out the crash i had.

P.S. while i now know the board IS using the 1/5 divider, silly sandra still says its 1/4.

About the 1/6 divider, think that it will be “reserved” for the 200 MHz BUS with the KT400, and it won’t come with the next BIOS update (hope I’m wrong); however, some current 333 motherboards have been able to reach that speed, after all at 200 MHz PCI is at 40 MHz and AGP at 80…….

not that it matters terribly much
ive done lots of benchmarks (about to post a huge post in the CPU overclock forum)

and they show my CPU in most cases is well and truly bandwidth happy at 166fsb.
ill get more out of the epox by using the extreemly high cpu voltages to push my cpu further.

plus, my particular components have enver been fsb happy, 38.5 is about the limit for my drives.
