We use Gateway Solo 9300 notebooks. For some reason several of these machines will not shutdown properly. I don't have an idea of what was done to them, I inherited the problem from the former sysad in the office. When you select Shutdown the notebook will go through the motions of saving settings and then the screen goes black. To turn the notebook off all the way, you must hold down the power button for about five seconds. It is not a life threatening problem, just irriatating. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
