Hot to use a RCA Thomson's Cable modem in Linux?

I have a cable modem to connect to internet. I've got no problems using it in Windows(by USB or by ethernet) but in Linux I have no idea how can I configure and get access to internet by the cable-modem.

Do you have any idea about this?
