Hi Cari,

Thanks for your help........but I've given up . The reason I wanted to
use the parallel port was that I had some other bit's and bob's
attached to the available USB ports. I thought I'd try the printer on
USB just to see what would happen and lo and behold it all works fine.
I'll have to forsake one of my USB gadgets for the sake of my printer.
