we got an hp 2000c printer donated to my work for our networked computers
(work for a non-profit company working with young homeless)
and i managed to get the drivers for it and got it running no problems, only
i cant seem to get any software for it, the stuff that usually comes with
printers. really wanted it so we could tell when the inks were running out.

have tried hp but only get the drivers.

is it maybe too old for this stuff or can you get it from some other location?

It's far too old, (originally designed in the days of Windows 3.1) and
therefore HP decided it wasn't economically viable for them to write updated
software.
