Hi
I hope that some one can help me with the following problem.
I have a Windows XP pro sp2 computer witrh more than one printer installed.
One of the printers (a hp 4050T) needs to make two copies of every printjob.
So I have configured the printdriver to make two copies of every printjob.
Now the "fun" starts. The default printer is configured to make one copy as
normal.
When I start windows and prints on the default printer everything is ok.
When I select the HP printer and prints the first time only one copy is
printed.
Now if I do enter the print dialogbox again then the number of copies is
correctly set to two and there will be made two copies if I press print.
(even if I select the default printer again)
Ok now for the question:
How can I fix this problem in a way so the default printer always prints one
copy (unless instructed owtherwise) and the HP printer always makes two
copies (unless instructed otherwise)
Some extra information:
I have tried replacing the HP printer with a Xerox docucenter C50 printer
and the same behaviour occurs.
I have tried printing from several different apps, and the same behaviour
occurs.
All of the printers are installed on a windows2003 small business server and
installed to the XP pro as network printers.
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:
Install more than one printer
change the properties on another printer than the default . Set the number
of copies to be made to two.
Start a application eg. winWord. Select the file->print menu item. Notice
the number of copies (should be one).
Now select the modified printer. Note that the number of copies doesn't
change.
Print a job.
Select the file->print menu item. Note that the number of copies now has
changed.
I hope that someone can help. Because I'm really frustrated now.
