Why doesn't Minecraft get horizontal tearing?

Hello, basically I'm wondering why Minecraft doesn't get horizontal tearing. In my other games such as Crysis, when my FPS is high I get the horizontal tearing thing unless, of course, I have V-Sync on.

How come Minecraft doesn't get that problem? In Crysis I get like 80FPS and it happens, but in Minecraft, I get between 250 and 500FPS and it doesn't tear.

It's different engine .

Oh, does that only happen with DirectX or something? I'm aware that MC is Java/OpenGL for the record.

Not really. It depends on game engine. For example, vertical sync is non existent in World of Warcraft either. And that's a DirectX 11 game.
