Hi,
I have an XP1700 and I increased the FSB to 160 and an old Windows registry was restored after I left the BIOS and rebooted. Is this normal?
Thanks

Thanks!
I overclocked and everytime I restarted the PC, it restored an old Registry. I lowered the FSB and then it didn't happen again.

In fact, it isnt normal.

Something is going wrong, I am sure its the memory which is unable to handle 160 MHz, that makes windows think that the registry is corrupt and so restore it. Since its the registry that consulted every now and then while booting, any inconsistency encountered is attributed to corrupt registry and so this action is taken.

You could relax the timings (eg. set CAS3 from CAS2)and try, but 160 straight up is way too high. You could also try increasing the memory voltage for stability.
