Before I install the Scanjet 640 with LPT1 interface, my hp 840c is working
properly but when I install the scanner and printer to a data switch my
printer now cannot print.. I try also uninstalling the scanjet but still my
printer is not working. Please help!

Thank you very much.

Darius

You can't do that.. buy and install a second parallel port card.. then set
the scanner to work on LPT2.. re-install the printer on LPT1..

Instead of using LPT2, you could buy a IEEE1284 cable to switch your
printer or scanner from parallel to USB. The cable is about $12
