is there any way to improve it? i remember some patch mentioned it but searching on google has found nothing and i'm
wondering if they changed their mind.
Frankly i wish there was a quest to make peace between the centuars and human types. 8-)

Since the centaurs seem to be plotting with the gnolls against the
humans, peace would seem out of the question. If you want to improve
your faction with the centaurs, you can kill humans in Thundermist
Village (that's what the patch implemented).

And why do they turn to the gnolls? From a role-playing perspective, they seem an awful lot like native americans. Maybe
they feel the humanoids are stealing their land. Maybe they are right.
The gnolls (like orcs) are pretty much mindlessly aggressive, but the centuars don't start off KOS to adventurers,
indicating there might be room for negotiation.
Just because someone is your enemy today, doesn't mean they have to be always. The english were at war with almost
everyone at one time or another, but now there's peace with all of the other nations.

Well, at a guess, I expect that killing the humans probably will work... :b
Likely there is another quest somewhere, but I never bothered to find it.

I just found a quest last night to kill a number of centuars on behalf of
the gnolls. I am curious what this would do (other than the obvious
lowering) to my faction with the centuars. More importantly would there be
a way to correct it later?

One nice thing about egotists: they don't talk about other people.
