Asus P4S533 / PCI bus speed?

Hi,

I have a P4S533, P4 2.26GHz, and 2* 512MB of Kingmax PC3200.

Right now, my FSB is @ 153Mhz, core voltage at default (1.5) and the CPU is @ 2.6 GHz. The system is rock solid. Asus PC Probe says my CPU temp is only 40'C under light use. (not sure how much I trust PC probe - it rarely varies more than a degree or 2 from 40'C. MBM-5 seems not to work with my mobo.)

My question: I can't see how to go much further without raising the PCI bus to dangerous levels. How high is too high? (It's currently 38MHz.) Is there any way on the P4S533 to set a static PCI bus speed? I don't see one, and this makes me think I bought the wrong mobo... two days ago. :-(

You can't lock the PCI bus but the P4S533 is incredibly stable at higher bus speeds compared to other boards.

Yep - it's very stable.

But about my original question - how high can I take the PCI bus before I should start to worry about the lifespan of my cards and the stability of the IDE interface? Anyone want to take a stab at this?

i am running mine at 155/39 and it pretty stable

Yup, 40MHz or under should be able to run most PCI cards with stability.

im running @ 154/38 for bout a week. no stability probs detected so far. all my pci hardwares r runnin normal thanx to the rock solid asus mobo

i have that mobo and when i put my pci bus at 35mhz, it wont boot. My moniter stays black. When i put it at 34 and less it boots fine. I have a 2.4a chip and samsung pc2700. could it be the ramn as the problem or waht. I cant figure it out.

I just build 1.8A on P4S533 with Sam PC2700 and was wandering what bios settings would you recommend. I am new to o/c so please be specific.
I understand that I could set FSB @ 155 and PCI @ about 35-38. What about CPU ratio? Any other changes to the default bios settings?
