I have XP fax installed. I create a fax, It is in the outbox but I cannot get
it to send. I never used this program before, am not real computer smart. Can
someone explain to me what I am doing wrong. I cannot find a send button. I
am connected to the internet with dial up service, have a data fax modem.

Your first problem is that you are connected to the internet with your
telephone. Faxes do not use the internet. It requires use of the phone line
without the internet connected.

Second be specific as to how you are sending a fax. Usually you use a word
processing program to create the fax and then print to the fax printer.

Dah, you know I knew that, I don't know why I thought I had to connect
first????? Anyway I scanned in a doc into word, said send as fax, does not do
it, that is why I connected to the web thinking I had to connect first.

I read the article, I do have the fax set up (I think correctly) but I do not
have Outlook, I use Outlook Express. I was trying to send it from Word and
from Omni Page. I was not online at that time. I open the fax option and can
see the doc that I want to fax but find no option to send.

List the steps you are using.
When you send from an application you must print to the Fax Printer.

First I scanned a doc into word, then I went to send to fax choose fax, then
wizard comes up with fill in name and fax number. I do all that, then nothing
happens. I can preview the fax and the doc is there with correct information.
But it does not even attemp to connect or dial.

You wouldn't happen to be online at the time, would you?.. if the analogue

I was at one time on line was in a hurry and did not take the time to fully
understand what I was doing. I am going to try some of the suggestions here
and see if I can get it to work. I will write down the steps as I do them and
if it doesn't work will post and let you know what is happening. Thanks for
the Help.

i'm extremely disappointed that fax isn't activated automatically and users
need to jump through hoops to send a fax. thanks for your posting.
