Suffering Very Bad Slutter/Frame skipping on guild wars 2

okay so im not sure which category this question might go in but recently i have been having very bad game slutter only on guild wars 2 so what basically happens is it will run fine for 5 minutes then it will basically be smooth for 1 second then freeze for 0.5 seconds then be smooth for 1 second then freeze for 0.5 seconds constantly and everything i have tried hasnt helped me at all. i have tried lowering the settings also but that doesnt help. what i am thinking is maybe the graphics card is heating up too much and then because of the heat it gives worse performance by causing this issue. but it only happens with this game. my pc is newly built and also gets very hot on the top of the case when it has been on a while. anyway here are some specs

gfx card: msi AMD radeon hd 6770

cpu: amd phenom ii x4 965 OC'd to 3.6ghz

power supply: 500watt

RAM: 8GB

it could be driver fault or like you said overheating of graphic card, check to see if this happens with other games.
  2. Hello,
please get a program to check your temperatures and utilization, something like hwinfo, hwmonitor will do the job.

Make sure you've got the latest drivers from AMD for your card.

Also, what resolution and game settings are you running? Windowed or not?
