We have a new computer with Windows XP and are having trouble with the driver
for an Epson T1000. The margins will not print properly. We have tried many
other drivers for this printer and none of them correct the problem. Please
help!

The printer is very old and the only driver available is the one included in
XP so after Cleanup and reboot, use the Add Printer Wizard to install the
printer.

What do you mean by "will not print properly"? Are the margins too wide?
Uneven? Pages not centres?
The usual "problem" occasionally mentioned is that the person thinks the
margin is too wide and cannot be reduced or eliminated. Sometimes a person
will complain that they cannot print on the bottom of the page.
Both of these are a result of the "unprintable region' of the printer.
Each printer has such a region because of design considerations, usually
because of the limits of paper handling systems. This cannot be changed.
The Epson site lists only one driver for this printer; however, as you
probably know, there are quite a few that will get the printer to print
something. Not all drivers will support all of the printer's capabilities.
And some might be for printers with different printable line length.

Make sure any line break is removed before clicking.
I should have mentioned that the driver there is suitable for Windows NT4
but possibly not for XP. Cari is correct. The best driver might be the one
on the XP distribution disk. A T 1000-specific driver is listed.
