I have the Swiftech MCX370 heatsink with the original Papst fan. I want to upgrade to my computer to Athlon XP 2100+ or 2200+. Is the heatsink will be fine with the new CPU or I need to get a new heatsink? Any reply will be appreciated.

Make sure you use some thermal compound to mount it and I would use the 3 to 4 pin main adapter to get your power straight from the power supply instead of the motherboard, to be on the safe side, it should work fine for you unless you're going to seriously OC, keep an eye on your temps I'm running the Swiftech MCX462 she's loud but during extreme gaming my temps are at 40c with OCing.

You never know what you can do until you try.

Well it has to be at least slightly better than the standard boxed HSF, but as mentioned above keep an eye on the temps if you overclock, heh which you do anyway.

40C is good, 50C is getting a bit high, over 50C it's time to reconsider and 60C or over its time to call the firemen.

FYI: The original Papst fan connects to a 4-pin connector by default.

Thanks for the reply. Since I am not going to overclock so I will be able to keep using this heatsink with my new CPU. I really like this heatsink since it is very easy to remove and install.
