Printing and Faxes Application Disabled - Troubleshooting ..

One of our newer client machines (windows XP SP2), is no longer able to print
to any of our network printers.

On the "Printers and Faxes" page, there are no longer any printers listed.
If I attempt to add a printer, there is no response. On most applications,
attempting to print either produces no response or in the case of IE, "an
error occurred during this operation". In the system Registry, under My
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers, the previously added printers are listed.

I have removed / readded this machine from the domain (Windows Server 2003)
and the problem persists. Any ideas for troubleshooting this?

Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, the print spooler is running. If I run
NET START SPOOLER i get "The requested service has already been started."
Any other ideas?
