The last word in the subject gave most of the answer - Lexmark. Sorry.
Did you follow the instructions in the owners handbook/brochure?
Install the accompanying CD/software first then plug in the printer.

Do NOT connect the printer until you have installed the software from the CD
which came with the printer.
READ the quick setup guide that comes with the printer before doing
ANYTHING.
