I've replaced the black ink tank but continue to have problems with every 3rd
line on my document not printing. Ive done the nozzle selfclean and
alignment several times.

Unplug printer and delete the printer in the Control Panel>Printers and
faxes. Also uninstall anything relating to the printer in Add or Remove
Programs under the
Control Panel. Reboot. Reinstall software, and follow your installation
guide that came with the printer to install it.

Considering the age of the unit, the printhead could very well be dead. If
this is the case, it's almost certainly going to be cheaper to replace the
printer.
