I recently reinstalled XP pro. Connected my HP Deskjet 840C via USB directly
to the pc and now, every time I want to print something, a balloon pops up
saying: this document failed to print. However, it prints just fine. The
balloon keeps on disappearing and popping up while printing a document, be it
one page or more.

My best guess is that it has something to do with the memory settings of the
printer, but since I never changed anything and it was working fine in the
previous installation, why would this be the case...

I have also noticed that the quality of the printing has become poor. This
may also be because I installed a new, original, HP cartridge.

As usual, any tips/hints/tricks are welcome!
