I recently installed a new mobo (soyo p4s dragon ultra)and equipped it with a p4 2.0ghz, 512mb pc2700 ram, etc etc. In the bios, it reports my temperatures being fine (43deg c for "cpu"/30degc for "system". The soyo hardware monitoring software also reports similar results under "cpu" and "chassis". All well and good, except when I use any 3rd party monitoring software (MBM, sandra, etc) I get a third "mainboard" or "motherboard" temperature that averages at about 75 degrees c!!! I'm not sure if I should go by the bios and intuition (case, internals feel nice and cool, no hotspots on the mobo) or instead be worried about that high temperature reading... any ideas?

I'd say check online or your mobo's manual for any additional heat sensors built in. I use MBM with my asus, and while I have the option of a third heat sensor, it is non-existant on my board. However, if I select it, nothing happens.
