Hi ,
i'm thinking about buying a new Computer .
the 1.7ghz chip has a significant lower price than the 2260ghz with 533 so isn't it more cost worthy (if it's possible ) to buy the 1.7ghz cpu & overclock it to 533fsb?
will there be any problems by doing so?

i dont know if i am right
but i think there is no Northwood version of the 1.7G
so it may be harder to oc it to 133fsb although i think it's possible

Not easy, probably not possible, definately not worth it. The 1.7's were all Williamett cores, with significantly lower performance than the Northwood cores.

Better buy a 1.8A Northwood core P4 and overclock it to 2.4 GHz or thereabouts. But you will need a good board to go with such a oc.
